July Athletes of the Month

1. Tell us a little about yourself: Age? Occupation? Married/Single? Kids?
Katia: I’m 22 years old, I’m currently studying to be an ultrasound tech. I’ve been
married for almost 2 years to my amazing husband Caleb now and I’m a new mom
to my beautiful 4 month old, Ella.

Claudia: I’m Claudia and I’m 54. I’m a teacher and right now I’m a stay grandmother. I
have been married 34 years. 4 kids (3 girls, one boy). 8 grandkids(6 boys/2 girls).

Adriana: I am 31 y/o, I am the mom of 2 amazing kids (10 months and 2 y/o) I am married,

and I work from home in our business. I have to admit I am obsessed with
CrossFit, after having my kids I lost some confidence in myself and thanks to
CrossFit I feel like myself again :) I am competitive and super passionate about
life :)

2. What is your athletic background? Hobbies?
Katia: I played basketball since I was 6 years old until my junior year of high school.

After that I decided to start going to the gym and do mostly HIIT workouts.

Claudia: Golden years: volley ball, basketball, and soccer. Thanks to Kristin MacMillan I

started working out. Hobbies: reading, watch sports and Brazilian fan.

Adriana: I love to dance, and I used to train some BJJ and Kettle Bells.

3. What are your favorite meals or Cheat & foods?

Katia: Tacos, tacos and tacos.

Claudia: Carne asada.

Adriana: Ice cream (Dulce de Leche) & Italian food

4. What song do you hope comes on mid-WOD?

Claudia: Rock & Roll

Adriana: Eye of the TIger

5. Favorite & least favorite CrossFit movements? Why?

Katia: Favorite overhead squats because they are challenging but fun. Least favorite
wall balls because they kick my butt every time.

Claudia: Favorite deadlifts (I think I’m good) overhead squats (so hard for me)

Adriana: I don't like running at all lol. Favorite is squat cleans.

6. What is your most recent PR? What is your next goal?
Katia: My most recent PR was strict press I did 65lbs. I really want to be able to climb
the rope.

Claudia: Increase weight and improve my techniques.

Adriana: Squat Clean 2 reps 100lb

7. What keeps you coming back to CFM to achieve your goals?

Katia: My daughter is my motivation. And I love love the coaches at CFM they help me
stay motivated.

Claudia: I love the exercises (they’re different every week). Jamie and Kim are so

supportive, and every coach. The hours (if I have something I can choose another

Adriana: The atmosphere (12 noon class).My personal improvement. The amazing coaching

8. Any advice to those who are just starting out?

Katia: Just don’t stop, CrossFit never gets easier but you for sure get so much better.

Claudia: Don’t quit even if you’re the last. Come every day don’t miss a class.

Adriana: Dont quit.
